Chakra
Chakra for beginners
Chakra is to Naruto as the force is to star wars. It flows in a continuous stream throughout every beings body and it is by building and utilizing the two types of chakra, that shinobi get their strength.
Stamina or Sta Chakra
Sta Chakra is chakra that your body had built up through strenuous exercise and rigorous training. This chakra doubles as your characters “hit points” since it is this type of chakra that keeps your heart beating. That is an example of the most extreme case of what we call Chakra deprivation and below is a table listing its various effects.
100- Unable to perform any jutsu even the most basic of the basic and moves at half movement speed.
75- Unable to move, lungs start to slightly constrict and victim falls to the ground with some small difficulties with breathing.
50- Unconsciousness, stable medical condition if undisturbed.
25- Outer skin cells start to die, victim goes into a deep coma and all organs slow accordingly. Requires strong medical Ninjutsu to be pulled out.
0- Dead
So you can see why conserving your Sta Chakra is important, also your Sta chakra will only heal at a low rate of 10% per undisturbed, resting hour. Sta Chakra is also handy for more than keeping you alive; Sta Chakra can be added to some of your attacks (see Basic Combat) with a simple one for one basis. For every point of Sta chakra you relinquish your attack total is raised by one.
Spiritual or Spi Chakra
Spi Chakra is Chakra that your mind has built up through new experiences, study, meditation and broadening your horizons. I guess if anything it could be compared to nowadays IQ but it also incorporates everything that makes up your soul. Spi Chakra luckily comes back very quickly compared to Sta Chakra and also won’t kill you when you run out so naturally your objective is to use as much Spi Chakra, and as little Sta Chakra as possible. Spi Chakra will regenerate at a much faster 20% per hour, so long as you are not drawing upon it during that time. In other words you can regenerate Spi chakra even as you race through the trees towards your objective.
Spi Chakra is used mainly in Ninjutsu, Genjutsu and Medical Jutsu. Spi Chakra is also never used in its pure form (except for Jyuken, see General Progress Tree for details on mixing Chakra).
